Abstract

In this text the migratory process Mexico - United States of the Mayan yucatecos towards San Francisco California is described. In addition, the different stages that the above mentioned process contains are depicted and an account of how the yucatecan migrants live and organize their movement towards the neighboring country is provided, as well as the set of relations or social links which are used to provide support, undertake the departure and to establish in a temporary way, between one and ten years, in the recipient society.
