Institución y sociedad: el caso de Teotihuacán

Abstract

The old mexican city of Teotihuacan, builted in the Classical period between the first and the sixth century a.C., has been affected by multiples situations, principally by the growth of the neighborhoods around it. This has result in various ways that the cultural meaning change and it´s constantly reinterpreting. Also, involved by the institutional politics, the authorities have not given enough analisys and attention concernig this matter, even when there is academic consensus about the forms to preserve this heritage settled. The present paper propose to analyse how, nowaday, the meaning of heritage is constructed by the people from towns nearby the archeological zone of Teotihuacan, considering diverse orders into this reflection: historical, legal, political, educational, religious. To make it satisfactory, we realize an strategical research which has ethnographical and technical interpreting methodology: evocative questionaries, oppening interviews and other, applicable to groups of study whose results we will present here.
